Refreshingly different and surprisingly relevant. I never would have expected an epistolary novel to bring people separated by more than a century so closely together. This quiet style of storytelling, in particular, feels like a welcome counterbalance to the loud, fast-paced nature of our time. I was especially impressed by the topics of conversation and by the character of the Mentor. His empathy, pragmatism, and tireless dedication kept drawing me in throughout the production. Time travel with a completely different approach.

I loved the print edition. The audiobook takes the whole experience to another level, and every time I hear the Mentor, I get goosebumps. The five narrators give each main character a distinct personality, making the exchange of letters feel incredibly vivid and alive.

The closeness that develops between Dr. Watson and Alexandra is something truly special. While reading, I could sense what was being expressed between the lines. At the same time, the surveillance methods used by the High Council of Time gave me a great deal to think about.

It was only through these wonderful letters that I truly understood why Sherlock Holmes is the way he is. His reactions to the achievements of our modern age are delightful.
